Condensation on My New Mobile Home Windows

So you have finally purchased those new energy efficient windows for your mobile home. Now you notice condensation around the glass. Are my windows bad?

This is actually very common. It is also a good sign of the results of "tightening" your home. With your old drafty windows, moist warm air escaped through your windows. You didn't notice it because your house was significantly "loose" when talking about drafts.

Condensation is water that forms on a cold surface when exposed to warm moist air. Depending on atmospheric conditions, this water may appear as fog, droplets, or frost. Condensation forms on a window as warm, moist air touches the cold glass and frame components. Since "cold" air holds less moisture compared to "warm" air, water forms on the window surface.

Like I said before, it is actually a good thing, you now know that the money spent was well worth it. Your home is now significantly tighter, which is what you wanted when purchasing new windows.You now know that you need to control humidity in your home. Once you look around, you might notice that your ventilation might need an upgrade.

Activities such as cooking, showering, washing dishes, and washing clothes all promote massive amounts of humidity within your home. Those same amounts went unnoticed before since your old windows were so drafty, allowing the humidity to escape. As the new push to tighten homes in order to reduce utility bills happens, there is new awareness to humidity levels. Humidity leads to mold propagation if left alone. It is important, as we strive to save on gas and electric bills, to control moisture levels by mechanical means.

Be sure to check the exhaust fans in your bathrooms and make sure they have adequate "pull". You should run the bath fans for at least 30 minutes after you are done showering. Make sure your range hood is operating or that you are using it when cooking. A lot of homes have ductless rangehoods that recirculate the air through a charcoal filter. These do little to nothing to control humidity. A range hood that vents to the outside is the solution. It would also help to make sure that you open windows from time to time when weather permits to allow dehumidification.

Remember, unless certain measures are provided to allow moisture to escape, condensation problems may continue to exist.

It is only natural to, at first, blame your new windows. You are discovering a problem that your old drafty mobile home windows were masking. Now that you know about, it's time to address it.

Still, I recommend networking with chamber mixers, doing fundraisers for churches and clubs, and involving yourself in community based organizations.

Spending lots of money on advertising might not be the best way to play it or establish a strong book of customers along a series of high-profitable routes to keep busy and generate revenue. Please consider all this and think on it.

T-Mobile's New Unlimited Calling Plan

For several months, Sprint had the best deal in wireless when it came to all you can eat plans. Now, T-Mobile has thrown their hat in the ring. So, what is this new plan all about? If I were to put it into one word, it would be "value". Now we will compare these plans to see the differences and which is the better value for you.

T-Mobile's new unlimited everything plan is priced at $79.99 per month for an individual line of service. With this, you get unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 2GB of data (which for most users is unlimited). One advantage of getting this T-Mobile plan now is the fact that AT&T has purchased T-Mobile pending government approval. This means that your coverage area will grow beyond just T-Mobile's and will eventually include AT&T towers for better overall service.

So how does this compare to Sprint's Any Mobile Anytime Plan? The Sprint plan gives you 450 minutes to call land lines and unlimited calling to ALL cell phones. Given that most people are abandoning their land lines and going to just cell phones, this isn't a huge advantage for T-Mobile, but it is a small advantage. The Sprint plan gives you unlimited texting which is the same as the T-Mobile plan, making this a wash. Finally, Sprint has true unlimited data where T-Mobile gives you 2GB of data. For most people this really doesn't matter, however, it is still a small advantage for Sprint.

So when matching them, how does the cost per month come into play? For non data devices you can get the Sprint unlimited plan for $69.99 per month. If you have a Smartphone you will be charged an extra $10 per month making the total cost on the Sprint plan $79.99 per month, the same as the T-Mobile plan.

So here is the scoop. If you don't want a Smartphone, but still want texting and the Internet included, the Sprint plan is a better value for most users since they will save $10 per month. If you want a Smartphone or Android phone and use tons of minutes and more than 450 of them per month are to land lines, T-Mobile is the clear choice for you. The one weakness of the T-Mobile plan is it doesn't offer true unlimited data like the Sprint one does. If you are a heavy data user you have to go with Sprint here.

Well, T-Mobile has given price conscience consumers another great value when it comes to unlimited calling plans. Now it is up to you to decide which of these plans is right for you.
